Book Fair at Barnes and Noble May 17 and May 18

LCS volunteers staffed the information table for 6 hours each day. The goal was to give patrons a yellow voucher to present when making purchases without actively soliciting their attention!

Board member Susanne Elliot read stories to children while encouraging their parents to buy books. Sharon Victor challenged teens and children to Unscramble Sentences in three languages. Everyone handed out little toys to bring people in close enough to present a voucher.

Patrons were cordial, some were interested in our programs, and many purchased enough books to generate a Barnes & Noble donation in excess of $1,000.
